Network Marketing Tips To Produce a Successful and Long Term Business

Chances are if you are reading this article about network marketing tips you already belong to a network marketing group or company. You may also be looking for ways to move beyond bugging your family, friends, co-workers and surrounding community. In other words your list is exhausted, so now what do you do? You could buy a list of contacts and begin cold calling or you could go to the mall and hand out flyers just to name a few. But, if you're like me these types of strategies do not excite you. In fact most people would rather continue on the path they are on than to do things like this and that is what typically happens. PEOPLE JUST GIVE UP. In this article I want to share with you some network marketing tips that will help you build a successful and long term business.
So how does one become successful in the industry?
Network Marketing Tip One:
You need to be involved in the right company. There are hundreds of companies with thousands of products to choose from so where do you begin. It's best to chose a company that has a product/service that will actually be useful to you and/or your customers. A good choice would be one that offers a product/service you would use or buy even if you weren't involved in that company. I'm a chiropractic physician who practices clinical nutrition and have reviewed many nutritional MLM products. Some are really good. However I think when push comes to shove these are not necessarily the best products. After a few months if a distributor is not making money they will find it hard to shell out the $50 to a $100 a month for something that they may not see as a necessity. I see this in my own office. No matter how much a supplement may or has helped a patient if they feel they can't afford it they won't buy it or will discontinue it's use. Weight loss however is a huge industry and I think this niche is a great one and works well in the MLM industry.
There are also other factors to consider when choosing a company like how stable is it? How long have they been around? How fast are they growing? Is there momentum and excitement? Does it have a great compensation plan? You have to look at the big picture.
Network Marketing Tip Two:
Build a business and not a down line. Most network marketing companies focus on building a down line. If you look at the top earners in MLM companies they build a business. They do this by offering tools to their group. Techniques that could be applied to any business model and everyone follows the same principles. It needs to be easy, simple and duplicate able. Companies come and go. But, if you build your business correctly if and when this happens you can simply dust yourself off, regroup and a few months later you are back in the saddle again going strong with a new company. If you just build a down line you have lost your paycheck. More on how to do this later.
Network Marketing Tip Three:
Find the most successful people in network marketing, find out what they are doing and duplicate it. There are a few commonalities that I have found among the top producers (1) They do some sort of attraction marketing which is the most powerful way to build a business (not just a down line). (2) They have their own websites with unique URL's and don't use the ones issued from their parent companies. These are just to name a few. I'll share some more ways to learn about these types of techniques later.
Network Marketing Tip Four:
Use the internet. There are so many ways to build your business online without ever having to do a party, contact your friends, family and neighbors. The internet, in my opinion, is a must if you are to build a strong and long term business. Think of how many people have smart phones, iPads and Notebooks these days. Everyone is one them and in most cases where people go for almost anything and everything they want to know. The internet is not just used for marketing and capturing leads but, it is also used to communicate with a group (maybe your group). Developing a Facebook group for your team is a good way to do this. You must approach the use of the internet correctly though. If you come across as a salesman or being too pushy you can destroy your business. This is where attraction marketing fits in.
Network Marketing Tip Five:
Treat it like a business. There is so much to learn initially that it is easy to get overwhelmed. There are literally hundreds of network marketing tips online that one could follow. Begin with one and master it. Then move to another. Your business needs time to grow. You will have to work hard at it for at least two years. So many people get discouraged because they thought they would get involved and in three months be rich. Living a life of total freedom is something that we might all be looking to achieve. Very few get to experience this in a few months. The rest of us have to work hard for two to five years. It's no different than a conventional business so learn to treat it like one.

How to Market Your Product

It was one of the hottest days of the year in the UK yesterday. As a sunny day is a rare occasion here, I took my son on his first trip to the beach. The beach is 70 miles away from where I live, so it usually takes about an hour and a half. The trip took 3 hours.
There is one long main road that connects everyone to this particular beach, and everyone had the same idea. We were crawling along and, at one point started timing our miles (yes, we were bored!). 2 miles in 32 minutes!
Anyway, we got there and it was confirmed, the whole of the UK had decided to go to the beach. We had a great time, but I do sometimes get a bit impatient with large crowds, so felt unable to fully immerse myself in the experience. I needed fish and chips, it was the only way to get past it!
Why am I telling you this? Because I made a discovery! Although the fish and chips we had were nowhere near as good as the ones back home, the fish shop was making a killing! It was all about location. They had placed their store in a high traffic location and were profiting big-time!
As you may have guessed, this is another post about making money and financial freedom. More specifically, it's about how to market your product. It really didn't matter to me that the fish wasn't all that great, it was convenient, and it was there when I needed it.
The key to selling products and making money is putting it in front of people at the right time; putting it in a high-traffic location, to be found when people need it. How can you do that? Think about your users. Where do they usually shop, where do they hang out online and what do they want? Do they want to make money? Do they want to learn a skill? If so, go out and find your crowd and tell them where you are.
I use Facebook a lot to generate traffic to my sites. I pay someone on fiverr.com to post an update on their fan pages telling people what's going on in my world. This then shows to all the people that have liked the fan page. It's completely OK with Facebook as nobody gets spammed, and traffic comes my way. I always make sure that the fan pages are related to my product or site in some way, so I know the people that have liked it are my sort of people. It's a really good technique that you can try if you're stuck on how to market your product to the right people.
If you don't yet have products, you can try this method by promoting someone else's. If you head over to ClickBank, you can sign up to promote other people's products, and you get a cut of any sales made. Then you can drive traffic to the product and wait for money to come in.

Make a New Product

Two years ago, I decided to try and create an eBay business. I suppose this was out of necessity as I had just moved into a new apartment and I wanted more money to actually have a life! I already used eBay a lot and so knew how it worked. The main thing I was tasked with was what to sell.
I looked into loads of wholesalers and spoke to discount stores to secure big orders if I needed them. These didn't work out too well as the discount store items didn't sell (because everyone else could get them at the discount store!), and the wholesalers wanted a big order, something that I couldn't afford.
I then had the idea of, rather than trying to find value in a product and increase it, finding something with no value, and giving it some! I had to make a new product of my own.
This is when my idea came to me. I have always been pretty good with Photoshop and love to design on my laptop, so I created some designs intended for t-shirts. I then bought, on eBay, some t-shirt print paper that I could just stick in my printer. I bought the paper in bulk so got around 50 sheets for around £8 if I remember rightly. The idea was that I would print my designs and people could buy them and iron them on to a t-shirt. Sounds simple right? The truth is, it is simple to make a new product. You just need the idea, and the components.
Let me tell you, they sold rather well. I was making an extra £15 per day profit from this extremely simple business. It's not a fortune by any means, but we are talking about an extra £420 every 4 weeks. Not bad to say it's just extra cash made in my spare time.
Remember, all I had to do was create some initial designs, list them on eBay and print on demand. I would come home from work on an evening and hit the print button, stick them in envelopes and post in the morning. On average, I would sell around 6 design transfers per day.
That was my simple business. I had to let it fade out as I started focusing on Android app programming, something else that proved profitable, creating value from nothing. I'll talk more about that in another post as that's an example of how to make a new product from nothing, rather than adding value to existing things.
All I did here was to think of a way to add value to what I already enjoyed. I loved to design on Photoshop, so I found a way to add enough value so that people would want to pay for the designs. I made the designs useful by giving them a function. I'm sure there are other ways I could have done this, but t-shirt transfers worked for me.

Choosing A Tradeshow Display: Four Critical Factors To Consider Before You Buy

When it comes to effectively extending brand exposure and recognition, it's tough to beat participating in tradeshow exhibits. Tradeshow exhibits and conventions have long proven an invaluable marketing medium for virtually any operational field. Offering an unparalleled opportunity to meet and mingle with potential buyers on a face-to-face level coupled with other tangible prospects such as networking and checking on competitive services/offerings, marketing conventions are a proven component in any successful promotional mix.
What To Look For When Purchasing Your Bannerstands And Tradeshow Display
While the return on investment makes participating in a tradeshow display an easy decision, determining which bannerstands and booths to invest in can prove a bit more convoluted. Fortunately, there are some specific considerations to keep in mind throughout the process to ensure you not only procure the right bannerstands and tradeshow display for your business to maximize efforts, but also keep a steady focus on what your budget allows for. When going through the process, always consider:
Vendor Selected: Your chosen vendor can have a major impact on your final tradeshow display look, fit and finish. Always look for a design team that has extensive customization experience as well as a seasoned staff with the skill needed to give you exactly what you're looking for in your final booth display.
Exhibit Venue: The location and exhibit space of the venues your business will be displaying at can absolutely play a major role in the decision-making process. Consider what type of square footage you'll be allowed at any given event. Also, if most of the conventions you'll be attending require extensive travel, you may want to consider a smaller, easier to transport tradeshow display.
Competitor's Displays: Yes, tradeshow exhibits are the perfect time to take a look over into your competitor's business backyard and see what they are up to. If your opponents are going big and bold, you will want to make sure that you opt for a final design that more than holds its own visually and informatively. While it's important to not go over budget with unnecessary bells and whistles, it is critical to ensure that your booth firmly establishes itself as an industry-leading force in just one glance.

Out-Of-The-Box Business - Bringing Creativity Into Your Company

To some, marketing is a checklist to create a presentable mix for certain audiences. It's commercials, magazine ads, and billboards. But, in a world of people striving to be noticed, creativity is not a bad aspect of marketing to look into.
Today, the world is fast paced and unforgiving. If you have the same old schtick to present to the people, no one will take the time or slow down enough to notice it. That's why crazy, out-of-the-box marketing is something each business should take into consideration.

Working the Public
Catching the attention of your customers is a hard thing to do lately. Publicity stunts are a great way to do just that. For example, flash mobs are a growing advertising ploy. No matter what they are advertising, a spectacle like this sticks in your mind. Your stunt will cause buzz, word of mouth marketing and, in essence, get you some free advertising.
Say you can't get any people interested in a flash mob, that's okay. There are other forms of public ploys for you to try. For instance, simply having someone stand by your business or busy streets with a promotional sign will draw the eyes of commuters. You could also have a mascot pass out coupons or promotional flyers.

Give What You've Got
Money may not be something your business has an abundance of to use on a huge marketing plan, but you do have something you can use; your business. Whether it be a sale, coupons or a giveaway, free stuff is a great way to get people to notice your business. People love a good promotion.
You can also use your business to barter with other businesses. If you find a copywriter, graphic designer or marketing genius, offer up some of your products in return for a nicely written ad or awesome graphics. You could also try to reach out to radio. Offer your product for them to use in giveaways for their listeners and get your name out there. The best part? It's free.

Guerilla Greatness
Guerilla marketing is one of the most understated marketing strategies among businesses. This form of marketing calls for tapping into the most creative part of your brain to promote your business. You could go from writing about your business on high-traffic sidewalks in chalk to something like the dirty water movement from Unicef.
Inspiration for this type of marketing is peppered across the Internet. All you have to do is simply search and enjoy.

Tips To Cut Air Conditioning Costs

Power bills seem to increase every time we look at them. Even when we try to cut back on the air conditioning and heat, the bills seem to increase in price. Maybe it's the way we are trying to cut back and tips we are trying to exercise. It's important to know the correct tips for saving money and to not do more damage with misleading information. Some tips work better than others and some tips do more to hurt than to help. So, it's important to distinguish between useful and hurtful tips.
If you're looking to save, then it's important to find a good starting place. What can you start doing now to save money? Well, let's start with a common piece of technology in a house and an area you regularly go to--the thermostat.
- Walk to your thermostat and look at the current temperature setting. Consider what the temperature is and whether it's too high, too low or just right. In most cases, the temperature is too low and can be shifted up and keep the home comfortable.
- An optimal range for temperature is between 77 and 80 degrees. Try not to go below this range because that will result in the constant running of the air conditioning unit and more money will exit your pocket.
- To keep that optimal temperature range comfortable for you, if not already, try using fans in your household. Newer homes come with ceiling fans, but tower and box fans can be purchased at local stores for reasonable prices. Use fans in rooms to keep air moving and feeling comfortable. Fans can do a lot for a home, more than most think.
Now that you know what temperature to shoot for while you're in your house, you should know which temperature to select when you leave. For most, 80 degrees is a good temperature to leave the house at when you leave. It's important to shift the temperature up when you leave for work during the day or for extended periods of time. If you leave for a trip or vacation, make sure to shift the temperature up because you will save money when you keep the unit from running when you're not around.
Another tip for keeping utility costs low is to have routine maintenance of your unit. Have a professional come every year to check your air conditioning unit and make sure it's running well and efficiently. Professionals can also recommend other ways to cut costs and keep prices low. Routine maintenance will save money on your bills and in the long run for parts and other costs.
Air conditioning contributes to high utility bills. Learn how to cut costs with tips and tricks. Grande Aire is here to help you by providing the knowledge you need about air conditioning.

Digital Printing - Convenient Quality

Digital printing provides many great benefits to business owners and people in general. Not only is it a wonderful choice due to the high quality and flexibility that it provides, but it's also great because of the conveniences that come along with it. Because it allows people to get things printed from just about anywhere in the world, people are not restricted to location. This is especially important if they are ever in a bind, and they need something printed quickly or even immediately.
For instance, imagine if a business owner had to take an emergency trip out of the country for personal reasons. Depending on how serious the situation was, he probably didn't have much time to get everything situated with the business before leaving. In their eyes, it could either be handled through email, over the phone, or whenever they get back.
However, while sitting in the hotel room, he suddenly remembered to finish looking over the flyers for an event for the business's anniversary. Not only would this have to be looked over, but the flyers would also have to be printed off and posted around town within a day or two. The business owner might think about allowing one of his or her employees to look over it for them but figured it was best not to delegate this important task.
Now, if this situation had taken place about 20 years ago before digital printing was created, that business owner would have been out of luck. That's because, there's no way he would have been able to get the hard copy of the flyer to the printer on time. The good news is today all he would have to do is make the edits and send the work to the printer digitally. All the printer would have to do is open the file and print it off. This entire process could take less than 30 minutes, depending on how many sheets needed to be printed.
A few other reasons why digital printing is so wonderful include the fact that it produces clearer and better-looking work than the traditional process. It also allows for more versatility. For instance, the items can be printed on different paper stocks.
Digital printing provides many great benefits, but chief among them is convenience. Never again will you have to run to the printer with a hard copy in hand. No longer will you have to waste the money of hiring a messenger or waste the talents of an employee by have them running this simple errand. Just upload away and await your quality printed materials.

Placing Posters - Strategy Counts

When many new business owners think of marketing campaigns, a few things come to mind. This includes radio ads, television ads, and even newspaper and magazine ads. Because of this, many establishments end up spending more money than they'd really like to. This doesn't have to be the case. If you are in the process of opening or if you recently opened a new business and you don't have a large enough bank account to run an expensive marketing campaign, you may want to look into using posters.
Now, of course you may be thinking that this is an amateur and ineffective way to market your business. Besides, no one really looks at posters right? This may be true in some cases. However, the truth of the matter is location plays a big role in whether they will get a lot of attention or not. So, there are several things you can do to help ensure that they don't become a waste of money and space.
With that being said, the first thing you must realize is that it's not a good idea to place your ads in random places. Some people think it's okay to print off as many as they can afford and post them in random locations around town. One reason it's not a good choice is because this can make your postings look like litter as opposed to legitimate advertisements. This is especially true if you put up too many. Think: real-life spam. When people see things like this, they don't take it too seriously. In some cases, it can be seen as amateurish. So, what you should do instead is be purposeful and strategic when it comes to placing your postings.
Let's say you own a children's clothing store. The first thing you should do is figure out which segment of the population would be most interested in buying your products. In most cases, this would be children and people with children. This may seem like a no-brainer, but this is important information to consider. Once you figure out whom to target, you should then figure out the places they frequent.
This includes schools, recreation centers, parks, playgrounds, and even grocery stores. You may even be able to hook up with other businesses that cater to children, like toy stores, to see if you can build an advertising partnership with them. They could allow you to hang your posters in or around their store and return the favor in your store..
Being strategic when it comes to placing your posters will do more for your business than you could ever imagine. Placing them randomly could be a costly waste of time and money.

Grow Your Business and Get Profitable Results Using Personalized Gifts

There are plenty of business opportunities around the glove as it continues to develop at a rapid rate. But opportunities can only take your enterprise so far and without a good plan to sustain and maximize prospects, there's a great chance of running a short-term business. So you'll want to implement results-driven advertising and marketing campaigns to ensure not just stability but also prosperity. How can the personalized gifts suppliers produce help you achieve your business goals?
People like getting gifts. To be precise, your clients and customers like getting gifts. A gift is a symbol that you value their business and appreciate their loyalty. A gift can differentiate your company from competitors. Just consider the idea of an airline that hands out small tokens to its valued passengers after long haul flights against an airline doing the same route but without giving away little extras. Which airline do you think a frequent flyer would rather book? Businesses that go above and beyond its commitment to clients gain an edge over other businesses and, inevitably, do better where profits are concerned.
The key to giving branded gifts is quality. The promotional items supplier make certainly pass high standards as each piece can be skillfully handcrafted and presented in the most unique way. This means that the usual bookmarkers, paperweights, letter openers, boxes, and other promotional items turn into elegant and one-of-a-kind souvenirs. When doing business, your company would do better to consider pieces that are distinctly from the region as opposed to having the customary promotional gifts mass produced.
So instead of giving away pens, keychains, or shirts, why not look into specially made incense burners, date containers, candle holders, or leather wallets? Each article can be made with high-quality materials and feature beautifully crafted calligraphy. Your clients would not easily dismiss such items, particularly the high profile ones. Just remember to observe etiquette when giving your branded gifts. Customarily, it isn't wise to hand out a gift before a meeting because the gesture could be mistaken as a form of bribe. So wait until the end and make sure to state that the gift is from your company to their company as opposed to from you alone to the recipient alone. This avoids any bad feelings from the other people present in the meeting if you only have one symbolic gift to give.
Investments are crucial to the longevity and prosperity of any business. Whether you're in the tourist industry or in the corporate world, do invest in the promotional gifts suppliers produce. Such items are impeccably handcrafted and unique, and they guarantee recall for your business.
Switch over from the traditional promotional gifts like keychains, keys and other items to personalized diaries, calendars and other personalized items to experience a boost up and make your business yield a great return.

Success of a Business Plan

There is increased competition in the field of business which has prompted people to require a plan for their activities. This is because it is important to shape the operations involved daily so as to help manage everything in the best manner. Moreover, it is good to work when already focused on some goals that are to be attained.
Past layout
This sets the achievements that have been there in the past thus helping to plan for the future. It also helps analyze the foundation of the business and thus assess how the future will be. It is important to assess with a qualified person who will lay down the hindrances which has been preventing achievement of the earlier set goals. The number of employees who were employed and their qualifications is also checked.
Realistic goals
Talking of realistic goals is a vital thing to consider in achieving the success foreseen in the plan. It is mostly advisable to check the reality of a goal before including it in the business plan. After evaluating the idea and it qualifies, it is also matched with the current resources. Some of them are employees, capital and how they will facilitate achieving the goal this.
Time frame
The set goals in the business plan must be under a certain time period. This prompts a person to ensure that the employees are right at work in the right time. Contracts that should be signed like tenders are also quite crucial to be signed in time as they can impact negatively on the company when they are signed late. Periodically, the department mandated to evaluate the goals achievement process should check how the other departments are doing. This helps clear the backlog of all the issues that had not been taken care of in the initial stages which are stumbling blocks.
Within the time frame, it is important to ensure that qualified personnel are employed on time. This helps prevents overworking those who are already there. Moreover, it is good to start appreciating the efforts of the workers early enough so as to propel them to work even much harder. Creation of new departments should however be done with consultation of experts.
Leadership
The business needs to have a strong and skillful management so that it can influence the other workers or shareholders in the right way. The leaders of the business should show commitment so as to direct even the new personnel. They should also set standards and policies after consulting the junior employees so they can feel as part of the system.
Seminars should also be incorporated in the business plan of the year so as to help raise leaders who can take leadership positions. It is quite important to also ensure that the workers also get to interact with other companies and learn how they operate. This can bring in a new trick in the business which can be quite saving like the introduction of new technology.

What Is Strategic Marketing?

Strategic marketing is one of those marketing terms that seems to get used a lot in conversation and marketing madeiras. However, my guess is that the term itself is not as widely understood as it is quoted. The key question really is what is strategic marketing and how is it relevant to everyday businesses? To unlock some of the mysteries around this term, let's start with a definition.
A definition you say? Sounds easy, right? Generally a quick check of Wikipedia solves that, but on this occasion it seems to be where the problem starts. There is no definition of strategic marketing in Wikipedia. So I turn to the Oxford dictionary and have better luck. Oxford describes the term as the action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising. This, for me, is really the definition of marketing, not strategic marketing.
Based on the Oxford definition, there may be a case to argue that all marketing is in fact strategic. However, in my opinion, that is not the case. There is a big difference between strategic marketing (thinking) and tactical marketing (doing). Here are some examples to demonstrate.
This is strategic marketing.
Strategic marketing is a thinking process rather than a series of tactical doing activities. The thinking comes first and the actions (tactics) result from that. the strategic marketing thinking process poses questions such as:
1. What problems do my customers have?
2. How can our product/service lead to improvements in our customers' lives?
3. What are the core customer motivations that lead to sales?
4. What other things are happening in our customers' lives that may affect our sales?
5. What will the customers be expecting from the market and us next?
The answers to these questions form the strategy around your marketing activity, or better still, can be described as the strategic marketing process. These steps help to define your target market, what products and services are going to deliver sales (profit) and how to position your marketing communication materials. The tactics came now. Heaven!
Is it really that important?
Now that we know what strategic marketing is, the key question is does strategic marketing matter and is it important? The short answer is yes.
The fact is that all the best marketing is done with the customer in mind and thinking before acting is a proven way to get better results.

3. Get your hands on print marketing as quickly as you can! Given the pervasiveness of digital marketing, many dentists make a big mistake of sweeping out print marketing completely. In this internet era, print media still has the endurance to generate groundbreaking results for dental professionals. Postcards, brochures, pamphlets, newspaper ads are some of the prominent ways to market your practice.
4. Create an online presence; it's the need of the hour. It's like oxygen to your lungs. Internet marketing possesses immense potential, especially when monetary investment is low. Incorporate internet marketing with a well-designed website that discusses your offerings, background and specialties. A proficient way that can take your dental practice forward is social networking media, as it is useful for getting the word out about your practice.
5. Free stuff always comes in handy. T-shirts, toothbrushes, toothpastes embracing your name, contact information and logo of your practice might appeal to a potential patient. Attend various community events and hand them out. You may be astounded to see the positive results.

Effective Digital Referral Marketing Ideas

Anyone with a business can tell you, referrals can be the driving factor in keeping it afloat when the economy experiences declines. When many find themselves in an economic struggle, they also realize that this can hurt their favorite local businesses. When times are hard, you may find that it is your referral marketing consumers who will rush to help you stay above water. To gather these vital consumers, you will need to take some time to advertise. Here are a few helpful referral marketing ideas that any business can use.
Referral Marketing Ideas
Even if your business is geographically limited, the digital age has brought us nearly endless opportunities for advertising.
Make a Website - If you haven't yet built one, make yourself a website. There are so many available formats online. Many of them are incredibly user-friendly and free. Even if you have one landing page with your businesses information, that is still better than nowhere at all. You should have all relevant business information displayed. Your business number and address included. This site will become the landing spot for all of your digital activities, so make it good. It will represent your business to viewers.
Links on YouTube Videos - Make sure that you always remember to leave a link to your business at the end of any videos uploaded. Not only will this benefit the original viewer who may already know what your message is, but those viewers that the original viewer shares with may be introduced to your business for the first time.
Instant or Private Messaging - Use those chat opportunities to promote your business. If and when possible, join chat services that are focused on your industry. Many of these types of chat services allow and encourage others to promote their own wares or services. Take the time to get register and make sure to fill out any and all profile information, most especially the areas that ask you for links. Put your website, YouTube, or blog links there as well.
Paid Advertising - This might be where capital gets serious, but dependent on your industry, it could be well worth the investment. Advertise on other people's websites, post ads on online games. A good rule of thumb is to choose a percentage of your capital to invest and stick with it. Don't forget about banner or search options either, those may be the best alternatives for your particular service or product. Ask an expert if you are really unsure, before you make any serious non-refundable investments.
Share Media - Aside from YouTube videos which do offer a platform that many already peruse, there are other forms of media that one can employ to generate referrals. Slideshows, mp3's, tools, programs and even podcasts can be used to generate marketing referrals.
Take the time to explore the best digital options for your business. In doing so, you may run into even more options that were not more openly advertised. In fact, private promotional networks offer some fairly impressive tools and education to help you push your business forward into a new digital age.

How to Grow Your Business by Bumping Up Your Sphere of Influence

In last week's blog, I wrote about important prospect-to-client conversion tips. In it, I outlined what happens when you make the mistake of asking someone to do business with you before you've developed a relationship with them. Getting the "yes" answer to your proposal often requires more than just one touch point before someone decides to do business with you.
The same is true as you expand your business by expanding your sphere of influence. Your sphere of influence is not only the number of people you know but also includes influencers who have a broader network and are in the one-to-many conversation.
Years ago, when I launched one of my books, a person in my network that I knew well encouraged me to call a well-known best-selling author to ask them to endorse my book. In my heart, I felt torn because I didn't have a relationship with this best-selling author. Against my intuition, I called up the author, let him know who connected us, and I asked him if he would endorse my book. The author was so incredibly gracious and politely declined.
It was an important lesson for several reasons: listen to your intuition and remember that doing business is about cultivating relationships. "The influence game is about relationships." said Teresa de Grosbois, Founder of the Evolutionary Business Council (EBC). "You don't ask to borrow the lawn mower from the neighbor you just met." Teresa would know. She created the EBC to connect collaborative thought leaders and highly influential business leaders whose mission it is to teach the principles of success.
"Never take for granted the value of the influencer's network." said Teresa. "Last year, I had someone approach me asking to collaborate. When I agreed to expose them to my network, which is hundreds of thousands of people, they proceeded to ask me for money to sponsor their event. In their haste to complete their agenda, it was lost on them the value they were getting from the exposure alone. It lands like complaining there's no strawberries on the cake, when someone just cooked you a gourmet meal."
There are three important tips to remember before asking an influencer to promote you to their following:
1. Cultivate the Relationship. Even though the influencer might be someone you think you want to connect with, get to know them first. They want to get to know you, too! Years ago, when I met a brand new entrepreneur, he immediately unpacked his brochures the first time we met. I didn't even know him let alone know if there would be a good collaboration match. Enter into a meeting with a courtship in mind rather than a one-night stand.
2. Be a Giver First. Even if you have a limited network, there are many ways to give, including:
a. putting comments on an influencer's blog
b. inviting him or her to be on your radio show,
c. giving them exposure to your community or
d. inviting them to a telesummit where you promote them on your show.

3. Be Patient. When expanding your network, pile on the patience. Understand
that it often takes more than one touch point before influencers may collaborate. One of my colleagues devoted 10 years of comments on an influencer's blog before they met. Only after she developed the relationship did she extend an invitation to the person to one of her workshops. Today, they powerfully promote each other.

When you show your commitment to collaboration and respond to others through your generosity, you will find that you will garner a reputation for win-grow relationships, attract a greater following and grow your influence exponentially.

Marketing Ideas for Clinics

In today's business savvy world, getting an edge over the competitors is more crucial than ever. This stands true even for clinics and medical facilities. Retaining existing clients and generating new ones is something every physician, healthcare professional and medical practitioner is vouching for. With internet marketing assuming an enormous role, fierce competition is the rule for every service in the offing. Potential patients of a clinic look for a doctor on whom they can trust. However, to make this task simple, one needs to follow a carefully thought-out marketing campaign. A clinic, regardless of the practice it follows can use a number of strategies to market its services.
Particularly for clinics, satisfied patients carry around proof of the clinic's exceptional work in their mouths. To show prospective patients the kind of services you can offer them, think of displaying your patients' smiles in public like a bunch of images on a billboard. Ask your most satisfied patient to pose. Using 'before' and 'after' photos to show the procedures done is definitely a big Yes.
Provide in-depth knowledge to current and potential patients of all the services offered by your clinic. This includes attending health educational fares where you can give participants crucial information. Encourage attendees to meet and greet your office staff. Just for promotional purpose, you can hand out samples pertaining to your specific practice and service. For instance, dentists can hand out toothpastes, toothbrushes. Similarly, dermatologists can go in for sunscreen samples. Offering services on non-traditional office hours, such as Saturday or Sunday can work wonders to your marketing efforts.
Clinics often generate new patients from the local community. For this meticulous reason, it can be helpful to advertise using feedback from local inhabitants. Visuals have much more positive impact, so stick to television and print ads instead of radio. With this, potential patients can see the commendable work done by you. Moreover, ask satisfied patients to share their experience whilst they were at your clinic.
As a medical professional, all you want is your clinic to a noted and respected one. For that to happen, newspaper ads, mass mailing, brochures, pamphlets and listing in "old is gold" Yellow Pages is ideal. One of the innovative ways you can highlight your practice is by sponsoring some local events or joining hands with charity groups ensuring marketing remains in good spirit. Your name is your brand and it takes time and efforts to build that brand. The more people hear about you, the more they will trust.

Brochures and Your Typical Freelance Cartoonist

Your typical freelance cartoonist survives on skill alone. He works for magazines and advertising agencies and increasingly for websites that are looking for some fresh ideas. But in an age of companies being bought and sold, it often happens that personal connections are interrupted or completely severed. Bill, one such freelance cartoonist, saw the handwriting on the wall and decided he needed to take action before all of his connections were lost.
He decided to call on someone they knew who might be in a position to advise them: a salesman at a full service printing company and who had helped them in the past. They ran into him by chance, and they invited him over to visit them in their location. After listening to their concerns and understanding their situation, he came back to them and recommended a brochure.
First of all, the illustrations could be done by the cartoonist himself. Or he could use it to showcase his best work. The next advantage would be that it could be mailed or put into a rack somewhere or taken to trade shows. There was a variety of ways that the brochure could be distributed, but with all of the various contact information available on it, a brochure campaign would ensure that it would get into the right hands on a consistent basis.
How do you even know that anyone will want to open your brochure and read it?
The point is that the cover has to grab the reader and make her want to see what it's all about. To that end, the front panel design is everything. And so the front panel has to be more than just 'clear and concise' - it has to be compelling.
Take your front panel design and pin it on a board. Ask someone unfamiliar with your project to stand five feet away from your front panel and take a quick look - no more than five seconds. Then ask that person to face you and tell you any of these:
  • what the subject matter of your brochure is
  • what question(s) you're trying to answer
  • what your point of view is
If your "guinea pig" can't tell you the anything along these lines, you have a problem and it's "back to the drawing board".
A compelling front panel can take the form of a question, an image, or a statement, or a combination of any of these.
When we talk about the concept of 'clear and concise', it's important to note that we don't necessarily mean text in every case. A brochure is a great place to practice the idea of 'a picture is worth a thousand words'. In so many cases, a simple graph or chart can illustrate an idea much better than a paragraph of two hundred words can.
An extremely good communicator could probably explain Einstein's theory of relativity in a well-designed brochure. Because when it comes down to it, a topic as complex even as that can be reduced to a dozen images and a couple of thousand words of text. Maybe not an 8.5 by 11 brochure, but certainly a 17 x 25.5.
If you want to think of a brochure in terms of basic concepts, think of what all newspaper reporters learn practically the first day on the job:
  • Who - are you addressing the right people and do they know your product is for them?
  • What - are you clear as to exactly what products or services you are offering?
  • When - is there a special opportunity they need to know about in order to take advantage of it in a timely manner?
  • Where - how can they obtain these services: internet, retail establishment or both?
  • Why - make the case that your product is needed. Everything follows from that.
Put a QR code on the brochure. Advertisers almost always overlook this approach because brochure s are so inexpensive to produce. What they may not realize is that QR codes are extremely cheap also: they add very little to your costs. QR codes are just images and they can be printed onto your brochure the same as any other image. The double advantage of the use of QR codes is that people can use their smart phones to scan the codes and then they are connected to your website. This is even better than the tear offs discussed above, for the simple reason that tear offs can be misplaced but a QR code goes right into your smart phone.
Other considerations in designing your brochure:
Eyestrain: increase the font size for older customers. It's a fact that nearly half the population is over forty-five years of age. And it's at age forty when eyesight starts to deteriorate. Your graphic artist or advertising whiz kind may be a lot younger than that, and he or she may have not given this issue a moment's thought.
Brainstrain: related to the issue of readability is the idea of comprehensibility. That just means that anyone in your targeted audience ought to be able to read and understand what you are trying to tell them without having to go and find a dictionary or other reference source.

How To Avoid 5 Big Mistakes With Your Elevator Speech...
1. Make sure your elevator speech clearly defines what you do - Most people get way to technical with their speeches. It needs to be simple. Instead of saying your in the real estate business, tell them you sell houses. If you are in and landscaping business, tell people you create beautiful lawns and landscapes. In one sentence, you must paint a clear picture of what you do.
2. Avoid technical language - Five dollar words and industry terminology will confuse people. They don't speak the language of your industry, so don't use it. Your elevator speech is not a dissertation. It is a simple statement that conveys what you do so that the average person can understand it. Don't complicated it with big words that they don't relate to.
3. Make eye contact - Don't stare at the floor when you deliver your elevator speech. Stand tall and be physical. Make eye contact with everyone in the room. Use hand gestures for added emphasis. Look alive. Show them your personality. And, for God's sake, don't read it or refer to notes while delivering. This is the a pet peeve of mine. You must write it out, and memorize it so you can say it in your sleep. If you stumble through it and don't connect with the listeners, don't expect them to relate to you.
4. Include a Call To Action - Tell them what you want them to do. Call your office, visit your website, come to your showroom, make an appointment, etc. Give them some instruction in your elevator speech. People do what they are told, to tell'em. Don't expect them to figure it out. It's just not the way we are programmed.
5. Tell'em what you're looking for - What is a good referral for you? What types of people or businesses do you want to connect with? How do they recognize and good prospect for you? What keywords do they listen for? How will they know when they are talking with a good prospect for you? And what do they say to the prospect that relays the benefit YOU offer? These are very important questions you need to consider when writing your speech.
Bottom line: Your elevator speech needs to be powerful. If you get it right, it will reward you with new business. I guarantee it!

How to Run a Successful Office Furniture Installation Service

Starting and maintaining a successful office furniture installation business can seem like a difficult task. This isn't because the prospective owner is incompetent or lacks the right amount of skills or knowledge. However, it's a proven fact that many businesses fail within their first year of existence. This alone shows that running a successful establishment of any kind is not always simple. With that being said, if you have been thinking about or you're in the process of opening an office furniture installation business, there are several things you can do to make your business stand out from the pack, which will then put you on a journey to success.
One of the things you can do is offer more than just installation services. This could include offering things such as desks, desk chairs, desk supplies, bookshelves and even file cabinets. Now, you may be wondering why you would need to offer these items. Well, because of your line of work and the people you will be catering to this would actually be a great idea.
For the most part, you would be dealing with establishments who are either relocating or opening up for the first time. The businesses that are relocating may not be in need of anything. Some businesses make the mistake of not being serious and diligent enough when it comes to finding the right employees. This is especially true for those who are desperate to find workers. Even if you find yourself in a bind and struggling to find help, don't make this mistake. Having subpar employees can really jeopardize your business. You will get a bad reputation and sooner or later you will be struggling to gain and maintain customers. So, the best thing to do is be patient during this process. Even if you have to open your business a couple of weeks after you intended; it's important to make sure you are completely satisfied with your crew.
Starting a business takes more than just a nice business plan and a few television commercials. You must also find unique ways to attract and maintain a customer base.

Office Equipment From Start Up to Corporation

All forms of business, whether it is offering a product or service, requires some space and office equipment in order to complete transactions or even to facilitate customer service. These tools are also required in order to conduct company housekeeping such as inner office communication for the smooth operations and continuity of that business's presentation, existence and continuance into the future. Frankly, every business whether founded online, in an office building, in a store front or in a shared kitchen at some point your business will require the convenience of standard office equipment such as multiple phone lines, printing, faxing, copying, and the ability to set up multiple computer stations.
Office equipment may seem like a generic term to describe all of the items required in a business environment in order to conduct its daily tasks. But the items that you can request for your specific business can be limited to the amount of time that you need to rent them and the limited tasks that you will require them for. One, you may simply need a call center for a fund raiser. Two, regardless of the size of your business, you may require computers, phones and desks to create a temporary or long term customer service facility for your business that is either online or off site somewhere else that does not have the room or connections for the type of space that you need to conduct that aspect of your business. Frankly, you can rent any piece of equipment that you need to support the completion of your general business transactions but you will always want to check a company's inventory and calendar to make sure that you will have the supplies that you need for the amount of time that you require for your business. From there you are in business and can continue to do so.

Using A Banner For Advertisements Can Be A Great Help For Your Business

The concept of using a banner to advertise something has been around for years. Yet, some people still don't recognize how beneficial these signs can be, when it comes to advertising or making special announcements. Little do they know, these signs can be used for a number of different reasons.
For example, they can be used to announce that a business is having a grand opening. Of course, a business can advertise their grand opening months before it actually occurs to help ensure that they get a good crown. They can send out reminders in the mail and they can even send out automated telephone calls. However, there's nothing that says grand opening like a banner. In fact, it can actually help to save a business some money. Instead of focusing on advertisements like television ads, the business can actually depend more on the oversized sign. Now, they will need to do other things like maybe purchase some space in the local newspaper. That's because there will be a segment of the population who may never pass by and see their business or their large posting. On the other hand, if the posting is bold enough, it can definitely help to either attract customers right then and there or let people know that the establishment is up and running. That way it will be in the back of their minds for future reference.
Another thing that these signs can be used for is to advertise for a political campaign. Many times, during these types of activities campaigners are usually seen with brochures and yard signs. Although these things are great and effective in their own right, nothing can get someone's attention like a large banner. This is especially true when it includes eye-catching colors, pictures and phrases. Sometimes, it's not the size of the sign that makes the biggest difference; it's what's on the sign. These types of postings can be placed just about anywhere that the campaign get's permission. This includes local businesses as well as the campaign headquarters.
Lastly, a banner can also be used as a decoration piece, instead just being used as an announcement. For instance, if someone was trying to decorate for a baby shower, they could get a large sign that announced the sex of the baby. This would add a little flare and color to the occasion.
It's clear to see that a banner can be used in many different instances for several different reasons. It doesn't always have to be big and overbearing in order to get the point across. As previously mentioned, it's what's on the sign that makes the biggest difference.

What to Consider When Buying Centrifuges

Centrifuges are among the most important equipment in hospital labs and healthcare clinics. Used for processing various types of blood samples, laboratory centrifuges come in various models. You have to choose the right one to meet your requirements. There are certain things you need to consider when buying centrifuges for your lab.
Factors to be considered while purchasing Centrifuges
Medical laboratory centrifuges vary considerably in their features, so make sure your selected device satisfies all your requirements.
• Spin speed is important. Revolutions-per-minute will vary and you should consider the speed required for your application. Check the programmability of your centrifuge and whether it will meet your requirements.
• Consider whether you need a refrigerated or non-refrigerated one. A refrigerated interior will help to protect the sample from heat damage. The best models also have some features like last run memory or over-speed running and so on.
• Check the tube, which may be made of glass or plastic. Consider the dimensions of the tubes. Microcentrifuges that are used in research labs have tubes of very small capacities. Make sure you get the tube size suitable for your application.
• Motor and bowl: A centrifuge with a brushless motor would be virtually maintenance-free and is an ideal option for busy labs. Also, a stainless steel bowl would ensure easy clean-out
• Display: A centrifuge with a digital display would shows status, time, speed (RPM), and RCF (g).
Medical Laboratory Centrifuges - Look for Accuracy and Safety
Accuracy is also an important factor. So buy quality product from a reliable laboratory dealer that supplies quality brands of centrifuges providing accurate results. Some leading centrifuge manufacturers include Block Scientific, BD Diagnostic Systems, Beckman, Clay Adams, Drucker and Unico. The warranty period for the lab equipment should also be considered.
Centrifugation is a high-power activity. Purchasing centrifuges with a proper safety system is important to keep the lid from opening when the rotor is in motion. Modern centrifuges are also built for stability and quiet operation.
